Independence Day has been an official federal holiday only since 1941, but its origins date back to the Revolutionary War and our nation's independence from Great Britain.

Per capita German and US consumption has been steadily declining for over 20 years; consumption in Brazil, China and Russia has been declining since roughly 2011. Last year, global beer consumption fell 1.85%, wieclined .008%, and spirits rose 0.04%. Have we witnessed Peak Booze?
